A New Chapter for Jigsaw Wimbledon: Bigger Spaces, Brighter Futures

Located in the heart of Wimbledon, Ricards Lodge offers state-of-the-art drama studios, a spacious hall, dedicated dance areas, and an impressive stage—everything our students need to express themselves, grow in confidence, and shine in the spotlight. These new facilities are they’re built for brilliance so our students can keep growing all of their performing arts skills!

But that’s not all. We’re also thrilled to welcome Kalyn as the new manager at Ricards Lodge. Kalyn’s journey with Jigsaw began over a decade ago as a student. Since then, she’s worked her way through the ranks—first as a Teaching Assistant, then a Performing Arts Teacher, and more recently, a Drama Teacher at both Jigsaw Mitcham and Sutton. She even launched her own branch at Jigsaw Wandsworth!

Now, as she returns to Ricards Lodge—where her Jigsaw journey first began—it feels like a full-circle moment, both for Kalyn and our community. Her energy, passion, and dedication are exactly what make Jigsaw such a special place for young performers.

And don’t worry—our classes for 3–6-year-olds will still be running at Dundonald Primary, making Sundays a full day of creativity, energy, and imagination across Wimbledon! The team at Dundonald will be all our Em’s! Emma is our site mamnager, and also the Manager of our Sutton, Mitcham & Morden branches – she brings years of experience to the role! Emma B and Emily are our exisitng performing arts teachers and they can’t wait to welcome back all their returning new studnets to the larger halls their classes will now be in!

We can’t wait to see what’s next. Join us this term at Ricards Lodge or Dundonald on Sunday and be part of something special in Wimbledon!

Boost creativity this Summer with a Jigsaw Arts Summer Camp!

The summer holidays should be a time to recharge, explore, and let imaginations run wild. After a busy school year, children need more than just downtime, they need opportunities to express themselves, connect with others, and rediscover their sense of play.

In a world where screens often dominate, face-to-face creative activities are more important than ever. Performing arts gives children the chance to step into someone else’s shoes, tell stories, and work together to make something magical. It’s about more than just fun, it’s about learning life skills in a joyful, engaging way. Creative activities encourage children to collaborate, communicate, and think on their feet, skills that benefit every area of life, from the classroom to the playground.

That’s exactly what Jigsaw Balham Summer Camps are all about.

The last few years have shown us just how important wellbeing is for children. With the pressures of exams, social media, and fast-paced lifestyles, kids need a safe, positive space where they can be themselves without fear of failure. Creative camps like ours provide exactly that. There are no wrong answers when you’re improvising a scene, choreographing a dance, or devising a new story. Children are encouraged to share ideas, try things out, and most importantly, have fun. It’s about process over perfection, which is something children rarely experience in more formal settings.

Over the course of five days, children aged 5–16 come together to create, rehearse, and perform in a show created collaboratively. Guided by our experienced performing arts teachers, they’ll dive into singing, dancing, drama, and storytelling, all while working as part of a team to bring their ideas to life.

At the end of the week, families are invited to see the final performance that celebrates imagination, collaboration, and confidence. Yes, Jigsaw Summer Camps keep children entertained, but they do so much more than that. They help young people:

-Let off steam after a busy school year.
-Build confidence through teamwork and performance.
-Develop resilience by working toward a shared goal.
-Make real friends in a welcoming, supportive space.

And the best part? No experience is needed. Every child has a role to play, whether they’re bursting with confidence or just taking their first steps into performing.

Charity Day at Jigsaw Potters Bar and Barnet!

What do you get when you mix superheroes, chocolate cake, 101 Dalmatians, and a whole bunch of big-hearted performers? One amazing day of fundraising at Jigsaw Potters Bar and Barnet, all in support of Children with Cancer UK!

Our recent charity day fundraiser was packed with fun, laughter, and a whole lot of dressing up. Our students and staff arrived in full costume, ready to raise money and make memories.

The theme?

Come as your favourite character, and WOW, did our students deliver!

We had everything from Disney royalty and comic book heroes to wizards, animals, and everything in between.

Not to be outshone, our brilliant staff got fully involved too. Manager Megan turned heads as a fabulously over-the-top Cruella de Vil, while the rest of the team transformed into her loyal (and very spotty) 101 Dalmatians. The kids LOVED it and the photo ops were absolutely priceless.

Of course, no Jigsaw event  at Jigsaw Potters Bar and Barnet would be complete without a sweet treat or two! During break time, students were treated to a cake sale to help boost fundraising efforts. A massive thank you to the generous parent who donated a BIGGGG chocolate cake, yes, it deserves all those Gs! It didn’t last long, but every slice helped raise money for a brilliant cause.

Mia Rogers Shines in Matilda the Musical: Theatre Trip!

A Magical Day Out: Jigsaw Performing Arts Barnet & Potters Bar See Mia Rogers Shine in Matilda the Musical!

Our brilliant Megan, who is the franchisee and owner of Jigsaw Performing Arts Barnet, Jigsaw High Barnet and Potters Bar, organised an unforgettable experience. 60 members of our Jigsaw family, staff, teachers, parents and students, visited the West End to experience Matilda the Musical live on stage.

The special occasion was to support one of Jigsaw Barnet’s very own student stars, Mia Rogers, who is currently starring as Matilda in this incredible production.

Mia attended Jigsaw Performing Arts Weekend Classes at Jigsaw Barnet on Saturday Afternoons. Now Mia Rogers takes to the stage as Matilda!

Megan shared that one of the most touching moments of the day was witnessing the reactions of the students. Especially Mia’s Jigsaw friends from Jigsaw Barnet. They have been alongside her every step of the way. Watching their faces light up as they saw Mia perform was truly magical. Many were moved to tears, overwhelmed with pride and awe.

This experience was more than just a theatre outing. It was a celebration of friendship, dedication, and the power of performing arts to inspire. We are forever proud of Mia and all our students who continue to shine both on and off the stage.

Thank you to everyone who joined us on this special day. Here’s to many more magical moments with Jigsaw Performing Arts!

East Barnet Festival: No Rain Could Stop Our Fun!

Jigsaw Performing Arts Brightens Up the East Barnet Festival, and the Rain Didn’t Stop the Fun!

On Sunday 6th July 2025, our Jigsaw Performing Arts Barnet students took to the stage at the East Barnet Festival. It was a day of creativity, community and fun! Despite our British Summer Weather Forecast taking a turn… Nothing, not even a bit of rain, could stop our kids from shining!

It was such a joy to see our young performers share their incredible dance routines and songs with the community. This year, Jigsaw Barnet proudly invited our fellow Jigsaw schools from Potters Bar, Finchley, and Hendon to join the celebration. The East Barnet Festival creates a wonderful opportunity for students from all four Jigsaw schools to perform to an audience.

The highlight of the afternoon was a heartwarming grand finale, where we brought all the Jigsaw schaools together on stage. Watching our students collaborate, support one another, and perform as one big Jigsaw family was truly special.

A huge thank you to all the parents and families who came out to cheer on our talented performers! Moments like these remind us of the joy and confidence that performing arts bring to our children’s lives.

We’re so proud of every single student who took part and can’t wait to share more exciting performances with you soon!

Thank you for being part of the Jigsaw journey.

We look forward to the next East Barnet Festival, and are excited to take to the stage again.
