Meet Rosie!

“I’m Rosie and I’ve been at Jigsaw for a year now. My favourite subject is Drama, I love drama, I want to be an actress when I’m older and I just love being on the stage. Both of our teachers are so friendly, wonderful, so funny, gets us all joining in, makes sure everyone’s included. I remember when we were doing characterisation exercises and we had to walk around the room as our own characters. I was struggling to kind of get into that role and Yas saw and she just came over straight away and showed me how to do it and what to do based on that.

Jigsaw feels more like a home than actual school. It feels like one giant family and I feel like when you do a school production, it’s different because at Jigsaw we all get on so well and work as a team, and the piece just comes together perfectly.

No matter how different you are, you could just fit in perfectly. On my first day here, I was doing a trial and the first day I just said to my mum, I want to come back and be here. I love it.” – Rosie, Jigsaw student

Meet Leo!

“I’m Leo and I’ve been at Jigsaw for around six months. I love being on the stage, drama is 100% my favourite subject. The teachers at Jigsaw are really nice, kind, welcoming, and make everyone feel at home. In dance, I remember there was this move where you had to jump over an invisible hill and I was struggling with that one. So then Yas, every time she saw me do that, she took me to the side, and did it again with me, until I really got it, which was amazing, so supportive.

Jigsaw compared to normal school is so much more fun and entertaining, and it’s my favourite subjects, the drama, singing and dancing. We do drama at school but not as much, and there’s more people in the class so the teachers don’t have enough time to work with each person.

The motto fits it perfectly, a place to belong, because no matter who you are, you can always feel you fit in. It doesn’t take months to actually fit in, you can feel it in the first week! Everyone’s so nice and friendly, the teachers, the people, everybody.” – Leo, Jigsaw student
