They create their own show from start to finish!

From idea to performance in one week

One of the things that makes our holiday camps near Telegraph Hill so special is that children are involved in the entire creative process.

Throughout the week, they work together to:

  • Choose the storyline or theme
  • Create their own characters
  • Help shape scenes and dialogue
  • Contribute ideas for costumes and props

It’s a collaborative experience where every child has a voice.

And that’s where confidence really starts to grow.

A mix of drama, singing and dance

Our performing arts holiday camps in Brockley combine:

  • Drama – storytelling, improvisation and character work
  • Singing – group songs and vocal confidence
  • Dance – fun routines and movement

Each day is structured, but still relaxed and enjoyable.

Children build skills naturally while working towards something they feel proud of.

Creative workshops tn Brockley that kids love

Alongside rehearsals, we also include:

  • Arts and crafts sessions
  • Prop-making workshops
  • Opportunities to design elements of their show

These quieter, creative moments give children a chance to:

  • Express themselves in different ways
  • Take a break from performance-based activities
  • Feel involved in every part of the process

It’s a balance that works for all personalities, not just the confident ones.

Friendship building and team games

For many families looking for kids holiday camps in Brockley, making friends is just as important as the activities themselves.

Throughout the week, we include:

  • Group games
  • Team-building activities
  • Ice breakers to help children settle in

By the end of the camp, it’s not just a show they’ve created.

It’s friendships, shared experiences and a real sense of belonging.

No pressure to perform, just down to earth teaching

Even though children work towards a final show, our approach remains the same.

There is no pressure to perform.

Children are encouraged to take part in a way that feels comfortable for them.

Our teaching is:

  • Supportive
  • Inclusive
  • Down to earth

So whether your child loves the spotlight or prefers to take a quieter role, they’ll feel valued and included.

A confidence boost that lasts beyond the holidays

By being part of the full creative process, children develop:

  • Confidence in sharing ideas
  • Communication skills
  • Creativity and imagination
  • A sense of achievement

And often, parents notice a real difference by the end of the week.

A creative holiday experience for children in Barnet

At Jigsaw Barnet, our holiday camps are designed to give children a space where they can relax, have fun and grow in confidence.

Across the week, children take part in a variety of performing arts activities including:

Drama
Through storytelling games, improvisation and character work, children explore the heroic world of Hercules while developing communication skills and confidence.

Dance
Energetic choreography and movement games help children express themselves physically while building coordination and teamwork. Children may even learn routines inspired by the vibrant style of the show.

Singing
Fun and uplifting songs bring the legendary adventure to life and help children develop their voice and musical confidence.

The focus is always on creativity, teamwork and enjoyment. Children are encouraged to try new things, share ideas and work together as they build their own heroic adventure throughout the week.

The magic of the Hercules theme

Themes play a big role in what makes our Easter camp in Barnet so special.

The Hercules theme invites children to explore their imagination and step into a world of myths, heroes and comedy. One moment they might be training to become heroes, the next they could be bringing characters like gods, villains and mythical creatures to life through drama, music and movement.

Creative themes like this allow children to step away from screens and into a world of imagination, storytelling and performance.

For many children, it becomes a week full of laughter, creativity and unforgettable moments.

Making new friends during the Easter holidays

One of the highlights of our Barnet Easter camp is the friendships that form during the week.

Through group games, creative challenges and shared performances, children quickly begin working together and supporting one another.

By the end of the camp, many children leave with:

• New friendships
• New creative skills
• Greater confidence in themselves
• Happy memories from a fun and imaginative week

Holiday camps can be a brilliant way for children to reconnect socially during school breaks while enjoying something different from their usual routine.

Why choose a performing arts camp?

School holidays can feel long, and finding something that is both enjoyable and genuinely worthwhile isn’t always straightforward. A performing arts camp offers more than just a way to fill the week. It gives children the opportunity to develop confidence, creativity and social skills in a structured, supportive setting.

At Jigsaw Performing Arts Barnet, our holiday camps are practical, energetic and focused on helping every child make progress, regardless of experience level.

Confidence doesn’t usually appear overnight. It develops through doing.
Throughout the week, students:

  • Take part in drama workshops

  • Learn and perform choreography

  • Work on songs as an ensemble

  • Share work with the group

These experiences encourage clear communication, resilience and a willingness to step forward, skills that transfer directly into school and everyday life.
Performing arts camps are structured around active learning. Children are not passively entertained; they are involved throughout.
They might:

  • Devise short scenes

  • Explore character work

  • Learn musical theatre combinations

  • Develop storytelling through movement and voice

The process requires concentration, listening and collaboration, all valuable beyond the rehearsal space. For many families, having a consistent routine during the break is helpful. A performing arts camp provides:

  • Clear daily structure

  • Defined creative goals

  • Experienced teachers

  • A final sharing or informal performance to work towards

Children benefit from having something concrete to focus on, and parents know their time is being used constructively.
A performing arts camp is not just about performance. It’s about communication, discipline, teamwork and creative thinking, delivered in a format that children genuinely enjoy. Come along this Easter!

K-pop, pumpkins, fun and laughter — the best half-term activity! K-pop Halloween Hunters

Our K-pop Halloween Hunters Camp at Catherine Warrington School was such a brilliant day! There was singing, dancing, drama, games, and so much laughter — the perfect way to spend a day in the half-term!

In singing, Sophie taught songs like Free and What It Sounds Like, and the children loved performing them together. Maddie ran the dance sessions, where we learned awesome routines to Golden and Soda Pop! Grace led the drama sessions with loads of fun acting games and mini scenes, and May looked after our youngest group with songs, crafts, and plenty of smiles! We even made poems, raps, and some amazing K-pop-inspired arts and crafts during the day.

In the afternoon, the real Rumi from the K-pop Demon Hunters film came to visit us! Everyone was so excited to meet her! We sang some of the songs to her, played games together, and she even joined in with the fun!

At the end of the day, each group performed what they’d been working on, and it was so lovely to see how confident and proud everyone was on stage. The teachers brought so much energy and encouragement all day long, and the atmosphere was amazing from start to finish.

We asked a few of our K-pop Camp stars what their favourite part of the day was — here’s what they said:

⭐ “Meeting Rumi was the best part!”

⭐ “I loved the dancing — it was so cool!”

⭐ “The singing was my favourite, I knew all the songs!”

⭐ “The games were so fun to play and was such a fun day!”

It’s safe to say the day was full of excitement, confidence, and lots of spooky fun! Every child left with a huge smile on their face, and so many parents have told us how much their children enjoyed it!

As well as this, we did some poems and raps based on the film and even had time for lots of arts and crafts!

The children had the most amazing day, and it was so wonderful to see what everyone had been working on throughout the day in our mini show at the end! It was amazing to see how confident they all were! The teachers had so much fun and brought positivity and energy to every minute of the day!

We asked some of our K-pop Halloween Camp stars what their favourite part of the week was — here’s what they had to say:

⭐ “I loved all the activities we got to do!”

⭐ “The Halloween games were so much fun!”

⭐ “I loved the singing — I got to sing all my favourite songs!”

On October 29th, at Watford Girls Grammar School, we all spent the day working on our singing, dancing, and drama skills — all based on the film K-pop Demon Hunters! Everyone worked towards a mini performance at the end of the day to show the other groups what they’d been up to!

In singing, taught by Sophie, we learned and performed songs like Free and What It Sounds Like.

In dance, Bex taught some amazing routines to Golden and Soda Pop — both huge favourites from the movie!

Amy brought the drama to life with fun acting games and mini scenes, while May looked after our little ones with songs, crafts, and plenty of smiles!

We even made poems, raps, and arts & crafts inspired by the film!

The children were absolutely amazing during the final showcase — it was incredible to see their confidence and enthusiasm on stage! Our teachers brought so much energy, encouragement, and fun, making the day super special for everyone involved!

Boost creativity this Summer with a Jigsaw Arts Summer Camp!

The summer holidays should be a time to recharge, explore, and let imaginations run wild. After a busy school year, children need more than just downtime, they need opportunities to express themselves, connect with others, and rediscover their sense of play.

In a world where screens often dominate, face-to-face creative activities are more important than ever. Performing arts gives children the chance to step into someone else’s shoes, tell stories, and work together to make something magical. It’s about more than just fun, it’s about learning life skills in a joyful, engaging way. Creative activities encourage children to collaborate, communicate, and think on their feet, skills that benefit every area of life, from the classroom to the playground.

That’s exactly what Jigsaw Balham Summer Camps are all about.

The last few years have shown us just how important wellbeing is for children. With the pressures of exams, social media, and fast-paced lifestyles, kids need a safe, positive space where they can be themselves without fear of failure. Creative camps like ours provide exactly that. There are no wrong answers when you’re improvising a scene, choreographing a dance, or devising a new story. Children are encouraged to share ideas, try things out, and most importantly, have fun. It’s about process over perfection, which is something children rarely experience in more formal settings.

Over the course of five days, children aged 5–16 come together to create, rehearse, and perform in a show created collaboratively. Guided by our experienced performing arts teachers, they’ll dive into singing, dancing, drama, and storytelling, all while working as part of a team to bring their ideas to life.

At the end of the week, families are invited to see the final performance that celebrates imagination, collaboration, and confidence. Yes, Jigsaw Summer Camps keep children entertained, but they do so much more than that. They help young people:

-Let off steam after a busy school year.
-Build confidence through teamwork and performance.
-Develop resilience by working toward a shared goal.
-Make real friends in a welcoming, supportive space.

And the best part? No experience is needed. Every child has a role to play, whether they’re bursting with confidence or just taking their first steps into performing.
